You’re holding a rum distilled and aged in Venezuela under the label of Distribuidora Sofa company. The molasses is fermented with a species of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae type and distilled mostly in multi-column apparatus in which they produce a wide range of distillates, from light to heavy. For ageing, they predominantly use ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak.

The rum was brought to the Czech Republic, where its aging continued and its final character was shaped — one of the most complex in the Era of Discovery collection. It reflects a playful fusion of flavors and aromas that first carry you to the sunlit climate of Venezuela’s rainforests, then to mysterious cellars of Jerez in Spain, before concluding the journey in the mild oceanic climate of the Grande Champagne region in western France.

Different worlds and different cultures joined together to create a unique rum, already the sixth on our journey with the edition “Era of Discovery“.
